CAROL COTE, PT, CCTT, CODN, CMTPT

President and Director of NJPTA

Carol received her B.S. in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College in 1980. She became certified in Neurodevelopmental Science and trained with top physiatrists in myofascial pain and fibromyalgia. She studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture and attained certification in Beijing, China in 1987. As a current TMJ/TMD expert, Carol trained at University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ in temporomandibular dysfunction in 1993 and attained certification. Carol was an early adopter of, and continues to be a strong advocate of Dry Needling, since she received her training through Myopain Seminars in 2011. Since receiving certification, Carol has advanced her needling techniques to reset muscle memory, habit and how muscles work together as a key cause of chronic muscle pain.

Carol’s extensive training and over 34 years of experience in treating soft tissue, spine and repetitive strain injuries makes her highly skilled in these areas. She is the founder of North Jersey Physical Therapy Associates, leading five other therapists in Morristown, NJ and Hackettstown, NJ since 1989. The focus remains on Orthopedics Sports Medicine, TMJ/TMD, Headaches, Fibromyalgia, persistent pain, and soft-tissue dysfunction, which is commonly undiagnosed.

In addition, Carol has served as a Corporate Ergonomics Safety and Injury Prevention physical therapist and consultant to industry. She is currently a member of the following groups: the American Physical Therapy Association including Orthopedic, Sports Medicine and Women’s Health, The International Association for the Study of Pain and The American Academy of Orofacial Pain.

She has become nationally known for her spearheading of work in the soft-tissue area - evaluating, treating and providing relief to patients with complex conditions... offering them hope and healing.


JOHN VICCHIO, PT, CCTT

John Vicchio attended the University of Pittsburgh's prestigious Physical Therapy program, and has been a physical therapist for over 20 years. He completed advanced manual therapy training in the Norwegian Technique from the Folsom Clinic in California, obtained a certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and recently became a Certified Cervical Temporomandibular Therapist (CCTT). John has been a Clinic Director of several outpatient clinics in the North Jersey area. His strengths include treating orthopedic/sports medicine related injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, myofascial pain, headaches, fibromyalgia, and TMJ/TMD.


KIM NOLAN, PT

Kim Nolan graduated from the University of Scranton with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy. She has practiced in a variety of settings, including Pascack Valley Hospital, the Center for Exceptional Children, Kessler Rehabilitation and the NY State Physical Therapy Board Exam as Examiner. While at Kessler Rehabilitation, Kim was named Employee of the Year. She is trained in Dry Needling through Myopain Seminars. Kim stays ahead of patient demand, taking numerous continuing education courses including Manual Therapy, Sports Medicine and Pregnancy. She is passionate about manual therapy and exhibits expertise in musculoskeletal issues especially of the neck and shoulder.

 

POLIXENI KATSAROS, PT, DPT

Polixeni Katsaros obtained her Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She has practiced for 27 years, helping patients with a wide variety of problems, while specializing in neurological and orthopedic conditions. Polixeni is highly trained in treating balance and vestibular problems from her six years of working with brain injuries at Kessler Rehabilitation. Polixeni strives to give her patients the best care and treatments by continuing her education.


LOVELYN RAVAGO, PT, DPT

Lovelyn Ravago earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. Lovelyn has brought to NJPTA a specialty in soft tissue treatment. She is certified as an A.R.T. (Active Release Technique) therapist. Active Release Technique treats your body’s soft tissue by integrating manipulation, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education and movement. Lovelyn has performed A.R.T. on players for the New York Jets NFL team. Besides A.R.T., she employs a combination of techniques, including McKenzie Techniques, fascial mobilization, manual therapy, myofascial therapy, joint mobilization, neuromuscular retraining, and key exercises to help her patients return to full pain-free function in their daily lives.

In keeping with the treatment philosophy of NJPTA, she is a hands-on, one-on-one therapist who loves to help patients get out of pain and return to quality of life function. With over 20 years of experience treating patients, she is committed to making a difference with her patients’ results. She has a strong commitment to excellence and doing what it takes to address the ROOT CAUSE of a patient’s problem in order for the patient to regain pain free independence.
